The season is over for Delaware, but head coach Monte Ross is still reaping the benefits of his team’s successful campaign. The former Winston-Salem State guard is up for three national coaching awards.
Ross is up for the Hugh Durham, Ben Jobe and Skip Prosser Awards after leading Delaware to a 25-10 season, including a CAA championship and the team’s first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1999.
The Durham Award is given annually to the best mid-major coach. The Jobe Award is given to the top minority coach. The Prosser Award is given to a coach who shows integrity.
Ross played for Clarence “Big House” Gaines at WSSU from 1988-1992.
