A day after winning their conference tournaments, MEAC Champion North Carolina Central and SWAC Champion Texas Southern now know who and where they will play in the NCAA Tournament.
UNC could play NCCU! Now that would be crazy! I love it though.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js NCCU (28-5) will face Iowa State (26-7) in the Round of 64 on Friday in San Antonio as part of the South Region. They are the highest seeded MEAC team since NC A&T was a 14 seed in the late 1980s. Iowa State lost to MEAC member Hampton back in 2002.
“They’re certified tough,” NCCU coach Levelle Moton said of his team’s opponent. “They have, probably the most productive offense in the country so we’ve got our hands full.”
Texas Southern (19-14) will face Cal Poly (13-19) in a First Round (AKA Play-In) game. The winner will take on no. 1 seed Wichita State in St. Louis as part of the Midwest regional.
Could Texas Southern upset Wichita State? Maybe.
