Crown ‘Em: NCCU Wins MEAC Tourney

North Carolina Central achieved something on Saturday it hadn’t done since it was coached by John McLendon in 1950: win a conference tournament champion. NCCU fought off a tough Morgan State squad for a 70-62 win to take home the MEAC Tournament Tile and a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

NCCU had not won a conference tournament since it defeated West Virginia State in the 1950 CIAA Tournament.
