Last week, traditional HBCU power Florida A&M revealed new prototype helmets. The uniform craze has apparently reached over to the SWAC. The photo above was on a fan page for Grambling State football. Check out the yellow uniform with the striped helmet. What do we think?

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Some folks have already said the money spent on designing these uniforms could have been spent better, and after last year’s player strike, it’s an understandable argument. New uniforms will be a hard sell if they are still riding 12-plus hours to play games. But when you’ve only won two games in the last two years, you need all the buzz you can get.
Oh, and by the way, the weight room has a new floor.
