Donnie Owens did the same thing in Saturday’s NFLPA Bowl that he did during his three seasons at Winston-Salem State: make plays in the backfield. The defensive lineman came up with a strip sack of Louisiana-Monroe’s Kolton Browning in the college all-star game.

Despite his performance and production at WSSU (26 tackles for loss and 17 sacks in the past two seasons) as a small school player, it’ll take more than that to hear his name on draft day. Still, it’d be a surprise if he isn’t at least invited to an NFL camp as a free agent.
