HBCU Poll Watch: BCU, WSSU Rise While TSU Slips

As the season enters its final stretch, the contenders in college football are starting to emerge. Both Bethune-Cookman and Winston-Salem State saw their national poll rankings rise, while Tennessee State dropped several spots.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Bethune-Cookman (7-1) handled business against South Carolina State, holding the Bulldogs to less than 150 yards of total offense in a 14-3 win. For its efforts, BCU moved up one spot, to no. 12 in the FCS Coaches poll. Tennessee State (7-2) fell three spots, dropping down to no. 24 after a 31-16 loss to second ranked Eastern Illinois.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Winston-Salem State took the biggest leap this week, jumping two spots in the AFCA Division II poll. The Rams moved to no. 13 after beating Livingstone 40-0 on Saturday, and remain the only HBCU in that poll. Both Tuskegee and Virginia State were among the teams receiving votes.
