It’s Monday, and that means its time for new polling info. Bethune-Cookman, Tuskegee and Winston-Salem State remain the only HBCU teams in the national polls, though there was some movement in the polls.
Fresh off it’s landmark win over in-state FBS opponent Florida International University, BCU jumped four spots on the Sports Network Poll, from no. 23 to no. 19. Interestingly, it dropped three spots on The Sporting News Poll, dropping from no. 20 to no. 23. NC A&T, South Carolina State and Tennessee State were among the programs also receiving votes.
At the D2 level, Tuskegee and Winston-Salem State both remain ranked in the AFCA Poll after wins on Saturday. Tuskegee jumped two spots, from no. 19 to no. 17 after its 19-13 win over Albany State on Saturday. Winston-Salem State’s 62-8 win helped it go from no. 19 to no. 20. Shaw is the lone HBCU mentioned in the “Also Receiving Votes” section.
Winston-Salem State and Tuskegee will meet Saturday in the Cleveland Classic.
