Morgan Rules Slow MEAC Opening Day

Dwayne Jackson and Morgan State defeated South Carolina State 61-52 on Monday night. (Hoop Buzz photo).

1) Attendance on the first day of the MEAC left much to be desired, based off this Virginian-Pilot story. With host Norfolk State women kicking off today, as well as three games on the men side, Tuesday will likely see higher attendance.

2) Speaking of Norfolk and the MEAC, the Blue and Orange of Morgan State got off to a good start on Day One of the MEAC Tournament. Both the MSU men and women won their first round matchups, as did the South Carolina State women and the Savannah State men

3) The SWAC’s Women’s Tournament kicks off today. The men will get started on Wednesday. Check out our preview of the tournament via The Shadow League.

4) Nice feature on Bethune-Cookman’s Adrien Coleman by The Daytona Beach News-Journal.

5) We’re a little late, but shoutout to both Xavier (LA) University’s men and women basketball squads for making the NAIA Tournament, which starts this week.
