Arkansas football dominates HBCU, has fun with cheerleader

Arkansas SEC

Arkansas football kicked off its 2024 season in spectacular fashion, overwhelming HBCU Arkansas-Pine Bluff with a 70-0 victory at War Memorial Stadium. This dominant performance marked the second meeting between the two programs, and Arkansas football made it clear from the outset that they were the superior team.

The Razorbacks wasted no time, scoring on their opening drive with a touchdown rush from Ja’Quinden Jackson, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Arkansas football continued its onslaught, scoring three more touchdowns in the first quarter alone, with Taylen Green and Rodney Hill joining Jackson in finding the end zone.

At one point in the first half, Jackson scored and then waived at a cheerleader playfully as the route was on.

By halftime, Arkansas football had built an insurmountable 49-0 lead over its HBCU neighbor, thanks to a combination of explosive runs and pinpoint passing. Green, in particular, showcased his dual-threat ability with both rushing and passing touchdowns, including a perfectly placed 23-yard touchdown pass to Washington.

The Razorbacks didn’t let up in the second half, with Braylen Russell and Singleton each scoring their first collegiate touchdowns. The final score, capped by a 90-yard drive and a touchdown from Reed, solidified Arkansas football’s statement win to start the season.

The Razorbacks now look ahead with momentum on their side. Arkanas-Pine Bluff, meanwhile, will look to rebound against Arkansas Baptist after the rough start to the season.
