Drake diss by Kendrick Lamar likely to be an HBCU crowd fav

The hip-hop beef between rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar may be over for the artists – but it is very likely to carry over into HBCU band season.

The face-off between Los Angeles’ favorite son and Toronto’s King hit a fever pitch over the weekend as the artists exchanged diss songs in a battle that had been simmering for weeks.

One track, in particular, has lovers of HBCU bands already thinking of what the arrangement will sound like. Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ not only served to attack Drake, it also has turned into a viral dance track and is being declared a club banger.


Rapper Joe Budden, host of the Joe Bidden Podcast, immediately thought of HBCU marching bands when he heard the track. 

“YOU BETTER THANK YOUR F&&KING HEAVENS UP ABOVE THAT IT IS NOT HBCU SEASON!” Budden exclaimed. “YOU BETTER THANK GOD THAT THEM BANDS…”

Budden and his co-hosts instinctively hopped up and imitated HBCU marching band members.
