Florida A&M football SWAC championship rings are here and LeBron James has taken note.
The Los Angeles Lakers forward and NBA’s all-time leading scorer took the time to share a photo of FAMU’s SWAC championship ring on his Instagram story.
James reposted the photo from the Florida A&M football Instagram page with no words — just emojis. Eight flame emojis to go along with two snakes.
“It’s no coincidence, of course, that James shared the photo. Florida A&M is the first HBCU — or college period — to be outfitted by the LeBron James brand.
FAMU football won the 2023 HBCU national title, going 12-1 on the season to win the SWAC and knock off Howard University at the Celebration Bowl in December. It took care of business while wearing LeBron James brand cleats.
The two sides connected in spring of 2021 when FAMU became the first college to wear the LeBron branding on its uniforms and equipment. NIKE supplies all team footwear, uniforms, apparel and equipment. Florida A&M’s sports teams are outfitted in LeBron James uniforms, apparel and footwear, including footwear designed specifically for the university, as part of this relationship.
James knows quite a bit about championship rings. He’s already got four of them in the NBA.
