Banister’s season-high 18 points lead Hampton past Monmouth

Hampton defeated CAA rival Monmouth by a score of 64-56 on Thursday evening. The Pirates got out to a 27-26 lead by halftime, and then came out and outscored the Hawks again in the second half to come away with the victory.

Daniel Banister scored 18 points in an incredibly efficient 7-of-10 shooting performance to lead the way for Hampton. The Pirates were relentless on the offensive boards, securing 10 extra possessions which they converted into 14 second chance points.
