Southern University keeps rolling, adds win over Alabama State

Derrick Tezeno scored 19 points in an incredibly efficient 5-of-6 shooting performance to lead the way for Southern.

Southern University earned an impressive SWAC win on Monday evening, taking down Alabama State by a score of 73-62. The Jags went into the break leading by three points, and then outscored the Hornets 40-32 over the final 20 minutes to secure the win.

Derrick Tezeno scored 19 points in an incredibly efficient 5-of-6 shooting performance to lead the way for Southern. The Jags’ ability to generate opportunities at the charity stripe was crucial to their success.
