A former HBCU legend is about to join the NFL coaching ranks.
Former Winston-Salem State star and NFL quarterback/receiver Tory Woodbury has been named assistant special teams coach f0r the Los Angeles Rams.

Woodbury just completed his third season with the Rams and second as a scouting assistant. Prior to joining the organization in 2017, he served as a scouting intern for the Senior Bowl Scouting Academy in 2016, a pro scouting intern for the Rams in 2015, a scouting intern for the Browns in 2014 and the running backs coach/assistant offensive coordinator/NFL liaison for Delaware State from 2011-14.
The Winston-Salem, NC native led WSSU to back-to-back CIAA championships in 1999 and 2000. He went unselected in the NFL Draft but signed with the Jets and spent the next six years bouncing around the NFL.
Since his NFL career ended Woodbury has coached at Delaware State and Johnson C. Smith before joining the Rams in 2017.
