Bowie State holds on for first win on the road

CIAA favorite Bowie State had another road test this weekend against Alderson Broaddus.

The Bulldogs dominated the first three-quarters of the game. Amir Hall had touchdown passes from 23 yards, 52 yards, 6 yards out. Gene Carson and Brandon Abrams added rushing touchdowns in the process.

It was smooth sailing until Alderson Broaddus ramped up things in the 4th Quarter.

ABU went on a 76-yard drive to get the score to 31-17. BSU immediately responded with a 65-yard drive. That drive was capped off with a 30-yard bomb by Hall. ABU went on to have 80 yard and 30-yard drives, both capped off by touchdowns.

With a score of 38-31, Alderson Broaddus had the ball with 30 seconds left. They drove into BSU territory then the Bulldogs defense stepped up at the end.

Hall shined again this weekend. He completed 27 of 41 passes with 365 yards in the air; adding four touchdowns. Brandon Abrams was lethal on the ground. He averaged 6.9 yards per rush and had 117 total rushing yards. Joshua Pryor led the team with 13 total tackles.

The Bulldogs will be on the road again this week; this time in Lebanon, Illinois to face McKendree University.
