On this week’s podcast Steven J. Gaither and I really dig into the news about the SWAC dropping their football championship after the 2017 season. There are lots of people upset about the decision while some who defend it are conveniently tossing out the notion of an attendance dip. We immediately debunk this myth in the podcast and we have the numbers to prove what drives people to the championship game and what keeps them away.
We also talk about the impact of Doug Williams being promoted in the front office of the NFL team that is located in Washington, I actually prefer not to refer to them by the name of their mascot. It’s 2017 people, come on let’s get with the program!
The promotions and demotions theme continues in our baseball discussion; as we update you on HBCU players drafted into Major League Baseball and the one conference that is saying goodbye to baseball for now. My proudest moment this week is the fact that people are out there stealing my ideas and doing great things with it. The mythical basketball czar has cooked up a great idea involving the NBA, the SIAC and the SWAC. If only the rest of the world would listen to me.
