After a whirlwind 48 hours, Tuskegee finally has a 10th opponent. Virginia State head coach Reggie Barlow told The Montgomery Advertiser his team will play at Tuskegee on Saturday.
Tuskegee (8-1) was originally slated to play Albany State, who backed out after a verbal agreement. Virginia State (8-2) has stepped in as both teams look to make a case for the Division II playoffs.
VSU finished 8-2 and was runner up in the CIAA North to Bowie State.
This is a win-win for both of these great HBCU'S. NCAA DII should reward the winner with a playoff birth.
Happy both schools get a chance to extend there season and make a atrong case for d2 playoffs. This is definitely a win-win for both schools. Hopefully this will develop a relationship between both schools and visit the possibility of playing each other in the regular season going forward. May the best team win! Go Trojans! #VSU #ClassOf97
