How The CIAA North was won

When the sun rose on Saturday morning, three teams still had a shot of representing the northern division of the CIAA in the Nov. 12 title game against Winston-Salem State. When the sun set, it was Bowie State University who punched their ticket to the title game.

Virginia State started the day with title visions in their head as they took on arch-rival Virginia Union in Richmond. VSU dominated the game from start to finish, beating VUU 48-2` as Trenton Cannon rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns while running mate Kevon Bellamy went for 128 yards and one touchdown.

But it turns out that VSU was simply playing for pride thanks to an even bigger blowout up I-95.
