Few games in the MEAC or HBCU football are usually bigger or more anticipated than Bethune-Cookman vs. South Carolina State. It looks like fans will have to wait a bit longer as the game, scheduled for Oct. 8, has been postponed due to Hurricane Michael.
SC State, who was slated to host the game, says it will be played at “a later date.” BCU is scheduled to host NC A&T on Thursday, Oct. 13.
This is the second time that weather has interfered with Bethune-Cookman’s season. BCU had its opener against Alcorn State ruled a no-contest after multiple lightning strikes caused the game to be delayed for hours.
That would be Hurricane Matthew, not Hurricane Michael.
