SWAC Media Day blog: Alcorn, Prairie View picked to meet in Houston

The SWAC kicked off HBCU football media day season on Friday by unveiling its 2016 predicted finish list, with a new name atop one of its divisions.

SWAC coaches picked two-time defending champion Alcorn State to win the SWAC East, while they tabbed Prairie View to break Louisiana’s three-year hold on the SWAC West and beat out Grambling for the division title.

Notes

Despite only being picked to finish third in its division, five members of the All-SWAC first team offense hail from Southern.
