Bethune-Cookman linebacker Don’Kevious Johnson killed after fight at party

Bethune-Cookman is in mourning after one if its student-athletes was killed. Linebacker Don’Kevious Johnson was shot and killed at a party early Saturday morning, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Johnson was a sophomore who started his playing career at Alabama State. The 23-year-old was psychology major at BCU.  Two other students were wounded and remain hospitalized, according to WSTP.

Bethune-Cookman released this statement:

The University’s Department of Public Safety is working with the Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD), as this is an active investigation.

At Bethune-Cookman University, our first priority is the safety and wellbeing of our students. Our Critical Incident Care Team is currently providing grief counseling and support services to students who are in need.

This is a very unfortunate incident and our thoughts and prayers are with the families, loved ones and fellow classmates of these students.
