Fayetteville State fires football coach Lawrence Kershaw

Fayetteville State will be searching for a new coach for the second time in four years. Lawrence Kershaw has been fired after just three seasons at FSU, the school announced in a press conference Monday afternoon.

“We are tremendously grateful for the hard work, dedication and contributions coach Kershaw and his staff have made to both Fayetteville State University and our community,” FSU AD Anthony Bennett said in release, “however, after conducting a detailed evaluation of our football program, I have made a decision to move in a different direction.”

Kershaw leaves FSU with a 15-15 record after three seasons, including a 4-6 record in 2015.
