The 2016 Summer Olympics may be a year away, but Francena McCorory is already making noise on the track. The Hampton alum and Olympic Gold Medalist just put up the fastest 400m time of any woman this year, running a 49.86 in the Addidas Grand Prix in New York on Saturday.

A member of the USA’s gold-winning 4×400 Relay Team in the 2012 London Games, McCrory also won the 2009 NCAA Women’s Indoor Championship while at Hampton.
Check it out for yourself.
McCorory wasn’t the only HBCU alum to pull out a win. Howard’s David Oliver won the 110m hurdles.
