Texas Southern alumni, students, and fans who made their plans for Homecoming this Halloween may want to see if they can re-arrange them. TSU’s annual homecoming game has been switched from Oct. 31 vs. College of Faith to Oct. 24 vs. Southern, the school announced on Friday.
“We want to continue to enhance our overall fan experience this upcoming season,” TSU Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Charles McClelland said in a release. “We’re excited to offer an exciting slate of themed home games this year in addition to the Labor Day Classic, Homecoming, and Senior Day.”
The announcement comes a week after HBCU Gameday reported that the program’s original homecoming opponent, College of Faith, has been ruled a non-countable opponent by the NCAA, meaning the games and the stats will not accumulate for TSU.
