Track-and-field is all about giving it your all. And that’s just what Winston-Salem State’s Raven Hamilton did on Saturday at the CIAA Track and Field Championships in Charlotte.
Hamilton jumped out to a big lead in the 800 final on Saturday.
But in her final 100 meters, she faced a fierce challenge from Johnson C. Smith’s Domenique Julius-Williams. Hamilton would hold off Julius-Williams for a time of 2:12.34.
Having left it all on the track, Hamilton was exhausted.
Luckily, help was on the way in the form of her teammates.
And a photographer.
And with that, the champion was on her way to pick up her prize.
