Albany State, Tuskegee cheerleaders get in scuffle at SIAC Tournament

In today’s edition of “When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong,” Albany State and Tuskegee cheerleaders get into a scuffle at the SIAC Basketball Tournament. The fight happened at halftime of the game between the two teams.

The two cheer squads, as well as the dance teams, are being sent home from the tournament. The conference put out the following statement Wednesday morning.

“The obligation to observe basic principles of sportsmanship and fair play extends to all participants at the SIAC basketball tournament. As a consequence of the incident on Tuesday, the cheerleading and dance teams from both Albany State University and Tuskegee University will not be permitted to participate in our tournament for the remainder of the week.”

Tuskegee won the game 80-63.
