Usually, footballs are the last thing anyone would be concerned with heading into the Super Bowl. But with the Patriots’ “Deflategate” saga dominating headlines, the balls used between New England and Seattle in Super Bowl XLIX will be under heavy scrutinity.
The NFL announced today that the process of overseeing the game balls for the Super Bowl will fall on Chicago Bears equipment manager Tony Medlin, according to ESPN. Medlin is an NCCU alum, who previously managed equipment at the school from 1982-1987.
