CIAA/SIAC Challenge: Morehouse, JCSU win on Day One

Day One of the CIAA/SIAC Challenge is in the books, and right now, it’s either conference’s to win.

The SIAC struck first when as Morehouse snuck past Virginia Union with a 70-66 victory. Redshirt freshman Michael Scott led the way with 16 points, including a 4-for-6 performance from three point range. Four Virginia Union players scored in double-figures, led by guard Frankie Johnson’s 15 points off the bench.

The second game featured host Johnson C. Smith against defending SIAC Champion Tuskegee. JCSU won the game 87-77 with relative ease thanks to hot shooting from both the field (58 percent) and the free throw line (81 percent). Alandre Davis had a big game with 14 points, 7 rebounds, five blocks and two steals for JCSU. Camden Foster scored a game-high 23 points on 10-for-14 shooting.
