A week after rolling a doughnut in the Atlanta Football Classic, North Carolina A&T found its stride on Thursday night thanks to big plays. A&T beat Hampton 31-14 on Thursday night thanks largely to several big plays by running back Tarik Cohen and Desmond Lawrence.
Hampton got on the board first, via a Jaylan Williamson pass to TJ Mixon.
A&T quickly responded with a 68 yard pass from Hassan Klugh to Cohen.
Hampton’s Jorrian Washington added another touchdown, giving his team 14-7 lead heading into halftime.
A&T struck quickly after halftime, as Cohen got loose for another big run, giving his team a 20-14 lead.
And then Desmond Lawrence put the nail in the coffin with this score on a reverse.
