Former Albany State legend and long-time NBA player Caldwell Jones died on Monday at the age of 64.
He may not be a familiar name to basketball fans under the age of 30, but if you followed the NBA in the 80s, you probably remember him. The feared shot-blocker and solid rebounder had a nearly two-decade long career in both the ABA and NBA.
Jones played on several talented Philadelphia 76ers teams, eventually helping bring the championship to Philly by being part of the trade that brought Moses Malone to the City of Brotherly Love.
Speaking of brothers, Jones was one of four brothers to play at Albany State and the NBA. Between Caldwell, Charles, Wil and Major, a Caldwell brother played for ASU for 18 straight seasons.
