Winston-Salem State’s Big Three came up big the 74-70 CIAA quarterfinal win over Elizabeth City State. Marquez Jones, Preston Ross and WyKevin Bazemore combined for 55 points as WSSU punched its ticket for a rematch with Johnson C. Smith on Friday.
Jones carried the team for much of the first half, scoring 15 of his game-high 25 points in that span, as ECSU took a 35-33 lead into the half.

Winston-Sale State (16-10) will take on Johnson C. Smith (18-11) in the second of two CIAA semifinal games featuring Southern Division teams. The two teams split the regular season, with both teams winning on their own home court. The game is scheduled to start at 9 p.m.
