Offensive Players of The Week
Jerry Lovelocke, Prairie View
Lovelocke has spent most of his career sharing snaps with fellow junior quarterback D’Autre Smiley, which has kept his numbers down quite a bit. Saturday he showed what he can do when he’s the guy under center. Lovelocke completed 32 of 47 passes for 380 yards and threw four for touchdowns. And if that wasn’t enough, he ran for three touchdowns as Prairie View shocked Stephen F. Austin 56-48.

Isaiah Crowell, Alabama State
Crowell was his normal spectacular self, which is to say that he was pretty damn good. The junior rushed for 133 yards on just 19 carries, four of which went for touchdowns. Enjoy him while you can, Alabama State fans.

Defensive Player of The Week
Ryan Griffin, Jackson State
Coming into the season, Griffin didn’t grab headlines like his teammate Qua Cox, but he has been just as instrumental to Jackson State’s success. Saturday Griffin recorded seven tackles and one big interception to keep JSU undefeated in the SWAC.
