Deondre Lewis-Freeman, SC State

Heading into Saturday’s matchup against Hampton, Dondre Lewis-Freeman wasn’t among SC State’s top four rushers. Still, the freshman from Charlotte came up big in SC State’s 30-6 win over Hampton, rushing for 140 yards and a touchdown.

Defensive Players of The Week
D’Vonte Grant, NC A&T

Watching Grant dominate against Howard on Saturday, you would have never known he had to walk-on at NC A&T. Grant finished with 12 tackles (3 for loss) and came up with a clutch blocked field goal attempt to help A&T hold of Howard on ESPNU.

Trail had a big day on Saturday, catching his first career touchdown pass and picking off two passes against Morgan State. He also had six tackles as NSU won 27-21.

Rookie of The Week
Malik Golston, Delaware State 

Golston caught just two passes against Savannah State, but he made the most of them, gaining 84  big yards in what turned out to be a tight game. One of those was a 53 yard touchdown from Cory Murphy.
