Baton Rouge legend and rap artist Boosie stopped by to check out the home team on Wednesday. The Southern University basketball team posted the visit on social media .
But it was the Southern basketball team who came bearing gifts. The team is shown on the video giving Boosie a classic Southern University warmup jersey.
“I might wear this as one of my outfits to the game,” he said while trying on the top.
While he enjoys fame across the world Boosie is no stranger to the Southern University campus, having performed in the FG Clark Activity Center before. On top of that Boosie is no stranger to the SWAC at large, having performed on several of the campuses throughout his career.
But the gift giving wasn’t done for the day, on social media at least. Boosie posted on Instagram the same day a special moment with his mother Connie.
The rapper surprised his mother, who was wearing a Southern t-shirt at the time, with a brand new Cadillac Escalade that had a bow across the hood. It wasn’t clear exactly when this exchange occurred but it was posted on social media Wednesday along with several other videos that showed Boosie making media appearances, talking to school children and at an Atlanta Hawks game.
