JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Cameron Potts recorded a triple-double as the Lincoln men’s basketball team defeated Northeastern State, 91-76, on Saturday (Jan. 23).
Potts scored 15 points and led all players with 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Potts, who also had three steals on the afternoon, became just the third NCAA Division II player this season to record a triple-double, joining West Texas A&M’s Qua Grant and Cedarville’s Branden Maughmer. Potts also became the first MIAA player to accomplish the feat since Northwest Missouri’s Trevor Hudgins had 10 points, 11 boards and 11 assists in a game against Fort Hays State on Jan. 25, 2020.

Quinton Drayton led all scorers with 25 points and grabbed six rebounds to go with an assist and a steal. Derrick Woods filled the stat sheet with 19 points, six boards, an assist, a steal and a block. Yaniel Vidal also scored in double figures, tallying 12 points, three rbounds and three steals.
Lincoln (7-3, 7-3 MIAA) shot .507 from the floor and drained 12 treys en route to its sixth home win in seven tries this season. The Blue Tigers forced 19 turnovers, resulting in 20 points, and scored 20 off fast breaks compared to just eight for the RiverHawks. Lincoln also controlled the glass, out-rebounding NSU 40-29, including 14-4 on offensive boards. Northeastern State (2-10, 2-10 MIAA) never led by more than two points in the contest, and Lincoln led by as many as 25 late in the second half.
Ni’Sean Rigmaiden provided nine points and two assists to the winning cause, and Jordan Notch came off the bench to supply six points, four rebounds and four assists. Mekhi Kimble pulled down five rebounds and chipped in five points to close out the scoring for LU. Charles Wilson, meanwhile, had one of Lincoln’s 10 steals on the day.
The Blue Tigers remain at home next Thursday (Jan. 28) to host Northwest Missouri at 7:30 p.m. CST.
