Hampton Lacrosse builds for the future with impressive recruiting class

By Brian Simpkins

The Hampton Pirates ended 2016 with incredible promise after an initial five-game lacrosse slate.

Hampton coach Lloyd Carter set out on the recruiting trail in hopes to evolve a 0-5 squad to potential upsetters. Showcasing youth was the theme of HU’s inaugural recruiting class.

Fourteen freshmen, a JUCO transfer from ASA College (NY), and two Division 1 transfers from St. John’s University rounded out the list. Most of the freshmen are heavily listed from Northern Virginia. National standouts, Kevin Mondy Jr. and J.P. Napier hail from non-traditional lacrosse hotbeds, Texas and Ohio respectively.
