Remember those SWAC upsets we started talking about earlier? Well add the SEC to the list of conferences who have suffered a loss at the hands of SWAC foes.
Southern beat Mississippi State 76-72 on the road for its first win against an SEC team since 2012. Trelun Banks scored 16 points to lead Southern.
You may remember a few years ago Southern put the fear of God in Gonzaga in the NCAA Tournament. This is a positive sign for a program that has been hit with NCAA sanctions and unable to participate in the tournament the past couple of seasons.
