The NCAA released its annual APR report on Wednesday, and HBCU were hit hard with penalties once again. Sixteen of the 36 teams banned from postseason play hailed from HBCUs, including three with teams banned in multiple sports.
FAMU and Alabama State were arguably hit the hardest, with both football and men’s basketball ineligible for postseason play. At Howard, both men’s soccer and women’s lacrosse were given level three penalties. Both Mississippi Valley State’s football and baseball teams are on the list as well as both cross country and indoor/outdoor men’s track teams at Norfolk State.
Here’s the full-list of teams banned from postseason play:
Baseball Mississippi Valley State University

Despite those ugly numbers, a few teams did pull themselves out of the doldrums, notably Grambling State and Mississippi Valley State’s basketball programs.
