It’s been a year full of twists and turns for Jakar Hamilton, but it looks like things are finally on the upswing. It appears that the rookie safety from South Carolina State has been activated by the Dallas Cowboys. The team has yet to confirm any reports, but a tweet from Hamilton’s twitter account suggests he is now on the active roster.

The Cowboys released veteran safety Will Allen on Tuesday. Hamilton was signed by the Cowboys following the draft after one season at South Carolina State. He was released during the preseason but signed back to the practice squad.

The Cowboys current roster includes two players from HBCUs, Hampton’s Justin Durant and Grambling State’s Jason Hatcher.
