LeVelle Moton starring in new television talk show

North Carolina Central University head basketball coach LeVelle Moton is no stranger to television appearances after multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. But he’ll be holding court as the one asking the questions in his new television venture.

On Sunday Aspire Television will debut “The Locker Room with LeVelle Moton” across it’s nationwide cable tv network. The show will have an initial two episode run featuring actor Jason Weaver and hip hop artist Rapsody as the first guests on the show.

“Blessed that Aspire believed in my ability to influence culture beyond the basketball floor. It’s been a lifelong dream to interview and pay homage to people that inspired me along the way. My gift has made room for me,” Moton told HBCU Gameday.

The show will air with back to back episodes on February 25 at 8 and 8:30 p.m.

The first episode with Weaver spends time discussing his career as a young actor who captured the hearts of America as the singing voice of Simba in Disney’s “The Lion King.” Moton also probes Weaver about his role as a young Michael Jackson in “The Jacksons: An American Dream.”

Episode two of the new show features Moton and Rapsody conversating about her journey from an aspiring rapper in Snow Hill, North Carolina to enjoying success across the world. The two used to spend time together early in her career in the studios of Ninth Wonder, the acclaimed music producer who was a classmate of Moton at NCCU.

Hip-hop artist Rapsody will appear on LeVelle Moton’s new television show.

“The Locker Room with LeVelle Moton” is produced by Jahliel Thurman Productions in partnership with HBCU Gameday LLC. Thurman and HBCU Gameday also team together on the television show “HBCU 101” now in its ninth season and the longest running program in the history of Aspire TV.
