Toss Up Of The Week
Massey’s Line:
Howard 34 at Delaware State 31
Win Margin: -2.5 Win Chance: Howard 55/45
Howard entered the 2019 season predicted to finish second in the MEAC with its star-heavy offense of Caylin Newton, Jaquez Ezzard and Kyle Anthony. But through three games it has produced just 48 points and just 20 last week against Hampton as Ezzard has yet to be medically cleared. DSU, meanwhile, kept it close with Delaware in the opener and looked like an FCS team program going up against a D2 team in Lincoln last week. HU is the slight favorite, but DSU could very well give it a run for its money with the homecoming crowd behind it.
Easy Money Game of The Week
Elizabeth City State 6 at NC Central 42
Win Margin: -35.5 Win Chance: NCCU 100 percent
The Trei Oliver Era has gotten off to a tough start with three consecutive losses to open the season. The first two were blowouts, the last was a winnable game NCCU let slip away. That said, it is facing an Elizabeth City State team that was beaten thoroughly by a Hampton team that couldn’t handle another CIAA team a week later. If ECSU gets within three TDs of winning, then it might be time to panic in Durham.
Game of The Week
Massey’s Line:
Southern 32 at FAMU 27
Win Margin: -5.5 Win Chance: SU 64/36
This is a game that a lot of people have been waiting a long time for. Both teams took care of business in their home openers last week against lower-level competition, but SU played well enough to win at McNeese and gave Memphis a good scare in the first half. Bragg will be full on Saturday and the crowd will give the home team lots of energy along with both marching bands. Add in the fact that our Wali Pitt will be at the game and there’s a pretty good chance this could be one that comes down to the wire.
