The precursor to the “real start” of college football is behind us and now it’s time for everyone to get into the action and show us what they’re working with. Before we start debating the importance of the games on the field we’d like to send our prayers out to those suffering in real life right now.
The destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey has just been awful and our thoughts are with all of those affected by the storm. Some games have been rescheduled due to the storm but that’s a minor inconvenience compared to the damage left in its wake.
This week Steven and I talk as much about the bands as we do the games. I recap my maiden voyage to FAMU while Mr. Gaither breaks down last week’s Battle of the Bands. There were some surprises and the most impressive crew according to Steven rolled straight off the bus and put in that work.
We talk sports and culture as it relates to HBCUs but the biggest laugh I got this week was about a wedding. Steven breaks down the scene of a bride coming down the aisle to Cardi B. To quote my favorite philosopher Hank Hill, “What in the world Bobby!”
