Benedict hoops player killed in hit-and-run

The Benedict College basketball team is mourning the loss of one of its own.

Hours after helping his team pick up a win on the court, Benedict’s Rashee Hodges was killed in a hit-and-run accident.

Hodges died after being hit by a vehicle while in the road at 1:20 AM on Sunday morning, according to police. They are looking for a gold Toyota Camry.

The 22-year-old had just helped Benedict to a 68-65 win over Kentucky State on Saturday night. The basketball team will dedicate their home game against Lane to Hodges on Monday.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Hodges’ family, the Benedict College basketball team, and the school as a whole.
