Watch: North Carolina Central’s new basketball court installed

North Carolina Central has the longest home winning streak in college hoops, and now it has one of the sports newest courts. Watch as the new floor is installed at McDougald-McClendon Gymnasium, replacing the original one that was put down when the building was constructed in 1950.

“These extensive and impressive upgrades will provide a more dynamic fan experience and contemporary practice and playing environment for our student-athletes and our entire athletics program,” NCCU Chancellor Dr. Debra Saunders-White said in a release.

NCCU also upgraded the lighting system, adding LED fixtures.
“The new lighting, flooring and scoreboard will also allow us to enhance key university events, including Commencements, Convocations and other activities that occur throughout the academic year in the arena.”
The men’s team is currently riding a 35-game home winning streak, the longest in Division I basketball.
