Bobby Collins has capped a big year with a big honor. The University of Maryland-Eastern Shore coach has been named the Ben Jobe Coach of The Year after leading UMES to its first postseason appearance in over 30 years.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Collins led UMES to a 18-15 record in his first season at the school after spending seven seasons at Winston-Salem State. Those 18 wins tripled UMES’ win total from the previous season, helping it earn a bid to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.
The Ben Jobe Award is given to the top minority coach in Division I.
