Sometimes we miss things here at HBCU Gameday, and we’re not afraid to admit it. Last month, Roland McDaniels passed away at the age of 93. McDonald was a CIAA Tennis Champion at Virginia Union and a member of VUU’s legendary “Dream Team.” His college career came to a controversial end due to allegedly back-handed sanctions by the CIAA.

For more on Roland McDaniels, check out Jim Junot’s article “The Forgotten Champion.” And you’ll definitely want to check out the documentary Bringing Home The Bacon.  By the way, this guy needs to be in the CIAA Hall of Fame ASAP.
