There wasn’t much suspense as to who would be the next Winston-Salem State football coach, but it’s finally official. WSSU athletic director Bill Hayes and Chancellor Donald J. Reaves introduced Kienus P. Boulware as the team’s new head coach, replacing the recently departed Connell Maynor.
“This is my dream job,” Boulware told the media at his press conference.
Boulware spent the last four years as Maynor’s assistant, serving as the Rams defensive coordinator. This will be his first stint as a college head coach.
Boulware has never been a head coach. Then again, neither had Maynor, Kermit Blount, Pete Richardson or Bill Hayes when they took over WSSU.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Boulware becomes the ninth head coach in WSSU football history, and just the fifth since 1975. The previous four coaches (Maynor, Kermit Blount, Pete Richardson and Hayes) all won at least two CIAA football titles in their tenures.
