Interim FAMU AD says MEAC voted for bowl game, waiting on SWAC

Florida A&M Director of Athletics Nelson Townsend said that the MEAC has voted to send its champion to meet the SWAC champion.

More details are starting to emerge about the proposed MEAC/SWAC Bowl Game. Interim Florida A&M AD Nelson Townsend says the conference has voted to send its champion to a bowl game against the SWAC, according to Tallahasee.com’s Jordan Culver.

According to Townsend, the conference winner will be obligated to participate in a televised bowl game instead of the FCS playoffs. Townsend said MEAC teams will be allowed to accept at-large bids.
