Never a dull moment at a Winston-Salem State sporting event.
Tuesday night’s basketball game against Barber-Scotia started an hour late, was temporarily stopped after a scuffle, and finally finished with a 105-64 WSSU win.
The game started over an hour late after a mixup with the officials. Things went fairly smoothly from their until a battle for a rebound led to a brief ruckus.
WSSU’s Stacy Caroway grabbed a rebound and was fouled hard by Barber-Scotia’s Chris Calvan. The two got into a scuffle and players from both sided appeared to enter the floor before order was restored.
The game was briefly called and the gym cleared before officials decided to bring the team’s back to finish the last 2:25 of the game.
Tijani Muhammad led WSSU with 17 points. He was one of six WSSU players to score in double-figures. Shaquille Wilson led Barber-Scotia with 15 points.
