MEAC Preview: Big Boy Pants Bowl Highlights Week 7

Hampton at North Carolina A&T

A week ago, Hampton looked to be the heavy underdog in this game. But with A&T starting quarterback Kwashaun Quick unlikely to play, suddenly, this game gets a lot more interesting.

A&T comes into this game with a 4-2 record, fresh off a loss to South Carolina State in the Atlanta Classic. Hampton, meanwhile, is 1-4, with its lone win coming against D2 Miles three weeks ago.

After more than four years, Connell Maynor finally gets his chance to take on his alma mater. He’s had nearly two weeks to study A&T, as Hampton was off last week. Though his team didn’t beat South Carolina State, it did take SCSU to overtime, something that A&T was unable to do last weekend.

Both defenses could have their hands full this weekend as Hampton struggles against the run (allowing over 200 yards rushing per game), while A&T ranks in the bottom half in terms of passing yards allowed per game, though they do have a league-high 12 interceptions.

Prediction: Hampton over A&T

FAMU over Savannah State
Bethune-Cookman over Howard
South Carolina State over North Carolina Central
Norfolk State over Delaware State
